An expert has told investors in Brazil property that engaging in gap year-style voluntary work abroad could help to improve their work prospects.
Adam Pembrey, marketing co-ordinator at Gapforce, said that there are many aspects of taking time out to engage with community projects in a foreign country.
He explained: “You learn people skills, problem solving skills, working skills, and from many gap years you learn a second language which is beneficial for employment. Another massive plus point is the people you meet.”
Mr Pembrey added that structured and organised gap year excursions and trips are done in groups, meaning that those new to the area will have a ready-made support network of people in a similar situation.
People who have relocated to Brazil property could see more people of all age ranges opting to undertake voluntary work, after STA Travel predicted a rise in ‘voluntours’, as travellers look beyond the standard backpacking experience.
